All rising 6th, 7th and 8th grade students are welcome to tryout for athletic teams at Southern Middle School as long as they meet the criteria listed below. Football is the only exception for 6th grade eligibility - students must be a current 7th or 8th grade student to participate in Football.
All athletes must meet the following criteria:
- Pass at least three core classes for previous semester. (This does not apply to the Fall semester for rising 6th grade students)
- Have attended school 85% of the time during the previous semester. (This does not apply to the Fall semester for rising 6th grade students)
- Have a current sports physical on file
- Owe less than $50.00 in fees
